Assuming his role on 1st October 2024, Leithner will initially serve as Co-CEO alongside Theodor Weimer until the year’s end, when Weimer, aged 65, will gracefully step down from the Executive Board upon the expiration of his contract.<\/p>\n
Leithner brings a robust background to his new position, having served on the Executive Board of Deutsche B\u00f6rse AG since 2018, where he oversaw the crucial Pre- & Post-Trading domains. Notably, he spearheaded strategic initiatives within the Investment Management Solutions segment and played a pivotal role in advancing the group’s post-trading business. Plans for his succession will be announced in due course.<\/p>\n
Prior to his tenure at Deutsche B\u00f6rse, Leithner held prominent roles at EQT and Deutsche Bank AG, where he was instrumental in shaping the capital markets landscape.
